What Is a Cultura Card?

A Cultura Card is a printable, shareable, activity-based guide that introduces children to a cultural artifact, tradition, or historical topic  paired with a hands-on project to explore it further.

Each card includes:

  • ✨ A cultural tradition or theme

  • 📖 Historical background and daily life connection

  • 🧠 Key vocabulary words

  • 🎨 A creative, hands-on activity

  • 📚 Academic connections (TEKS aligned)

  • 🏡 A way to extend the activity at home with family

  • 📸 A real-life photo of the project in action

These cards make it easier to intentionally teach culture through experience — whether it’s making cascarones, cooking with a molcajete, or talking about murals seen in your neighborhood.

Want to Grow Cultura?

A Hands-On Way to Celebrate Heritage, History, and Resilience

Children who grow up knowing their family's history and heritage are more confident, resilient, and successful both in school and in life. But passing down culture in today’s fast-moving world can be tough. That’s why Cultura Cards were created.

Whether you're a parent, educator, or community leader, Cultura Cards are a simple, powerful way to spark meaningful conversations about our shared traditions and histories especially those of the Borderlands and Latino communities.
